Institute for Advanced Biomechanics and Motion Studies
Welcome at the Institute for Advanced Biomechanics and Motion Studies
The Institute for Advanced Biomechanics and Motion Studies (IBMS) conducts research and development in the field of biomechanics with a focus on the complex analysis of human movement and physical load. Key areas of research include the prevention of falls, the optimisation of joint loading and the improvement of human-technology interaction. In addition, more complex biomechanical movements and loads in a sporting context are analysed with a focus on performance enhancement, injury prevention and rehabilitation. Furthermore, the development of methods for movement analysis outside of laboratory situations, functional statistics and the production and analysis of large biomechanical data sets are addressed.
The IBMS strives for interdisciplinary cooperation between professors and partnerships with regional and national companies, institutions and organisations. The aim is to promote the application and further development of technologies, conduct studies and develop solutions for new challenges together with partners.
The website provides an overview of the team, the laboratories and current research focuses in the Team, Lab, Projects and Publications sections. In addition, current study calls and job offers as well as information on how to find the institute are available.
